CTA at the Africa Rural Development Forum from 2-4 May 2013 in Cotonou

The inaugural session of the Africa Rural Development Forum (ARDF) takes place from 2-4 May 2013 in Cotonou, Benin. Co-organised by NPCA and the Republic of Benin alongside IFAD, CTA and UNECA, the forum will address a sustainable rural transformation agenda for Africa.

The objective of ARDF is to provide a platform to share lessons within Africa and to take learnings from other countries who have successfully supported rural transformation. Delegates will share best practices of policy coordination across different institutional levels and sectors with the aim of developing more effective and efficient means of making Africa's rural space economically viable.

CTA's Principle Technical Advisor for Policy and Markets, Dr. Josu Dion will deliver a lead presentation on the first day of the forum in the session entitled 'Concept and principles of rural transformation and development.' Michael Hailu, Director of CTA, will chain a plenary session during the morning of day two, when delegates present the reports from the various working groups.
