Brussels Briefing: Geography of food: reconnecting with origin in the food system

Linking places, local stakeholders and their products

Can marketing tradition and origin protect the value of agricultural and food products? What global and regional legal frameworks for origin-branding exist and how effective are they? These are just some of the questions that will be addressed during the Brussels Briefing on 15th May.

Entitled Geography of food: reconnecting with origin in the food system, this 31st Briefing features several prominent industry experts and thought leaders including Marie-Paule Rizo, Head of the Industrial Design and Geographical Indications Law Section at WIPO, Getachew Mengistie Alemu, Intellectual Property Consultant and attorney from Ethiopia, and Anselme Bakudila Mbuta of the Slow Food Studies Centre in Italy.

The Brussels Briefing is organised by CTA, DG AGRI and DG DEVCO, European Commission, the ACP Secretariat and CONCORD.
