Plateforme Sous-Régionale des Organisations Paysannes d’Afrique Centrale

PROPAC was officially born in February 2005. This was the result of a process of structured collaboration initiated by leaders of Peasant Organizations of Central Africa which was launched in 1998 to meet their needs in terms of structuring, capacity building, advocacy and participation in spaces for negotiation and decision-making.

PROPAC, recognized under the law No. 90/053 of 19 December 1990 on the freedom of association of the Republic of Cameroon, is a regional peasant nonprofit, apolitical and non-religious purpose.

PROPAC includes 11 countries of the Central Africa sub-region areas ECCAS and CEMAC.

PROPAC focusses on structuring, capacity building, harmonization of strategies and actions of the Central African National Farmers' Organisations and their involvement in the development, implementation, evaluation of policies and strategies agriculture and rural development at national, Sub-regional, International to voice the concerns and interests be taken into account to contribute to the sustainable improvement of the living conditions of rural populations in the Central African Sub-region.
