The competition, which is organised by CTA, the Caribbean Council for Science & Technology, UWI, Trinidad and Tobago Film Company and CARDI, promotes the importance of science, technology and innovation to improving agricultural performance and supporting economic development.
The theme of this year's competition is 'adding value to local foods'. The competition is open to young professionals (18-35 years) in agriculture and related enterprises; mid-level film/tv professionals with 'break-out' potential; and talented students/emerging film makers ready for a challenge.
Up to 30 semi-finalists will be selected to take part in an intensive six-day training workshop on various aspects of film/video production. They will be mentored by Caribbean scientists and experts to produce high quality films/videos based on their original concept note or script.
Aside from trophies and fantastic cash prizes, the top five winners will attend the Caribbean Tales Film Festival in Barbados in 2014, where they will showcase their work and network with international filmmakers.
Deadline for entries is 30 January 2014
