The Ambassador and his delegates met with CTA director, Michael Hailu and colleagues on 26 February 2014. CTA briefed the delegation about its current value chain programme and its focus on the effective integration of small holders in modern agricultural value chains. Discussions were also held on past CTA training activities on food safety standards organized in Sierra Leone and the ongoing Information and Communication support given by the Centre to a 3 million USD national project looking at strengthening fishery products health conditions in Sierra Leone with a view to access the EU market.
H.E. Mr. Sorie, spoke very highly of the work done by CTA in helping agricultural and rural development in ACP countries. He describe CTA as 'a world class agricultural centre that is dedicated to fighting world hunger.'
