The fourth edition of Agricultural Science Week in West and Central Africa takes place in Niamey, Niger from 16-20 June 2014.

Organised by the West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development (WECARD CORAF), the five-day event will assemble key agricultural stakeholders to consider the topic of innovations in agro-sylvo-pastoral systems to feed West and Central Africa.

The main theme of the event will be examined under various headings such as the improvement of productivity and resilience of agro-pastoral themes; policies supportive to efficient access to resources and markets; strengthening competencies in agricultural R&D to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship; and production and management of knowledge for the strengthening of the resilience of agro-pastoral systems.

Krishan Bheenick, Senior Programme Coordinator for Knowledge Management, shared details of the Knowledge Management work CTA and CORAF are collaborating on, at the official launch of CORAF ReGICA in a side event organised by the two organisations. The presentation was well received and will feature in the plenary session of the main event on 17 June.
