The synthesis document, conceptual background and operationalisation are now available for download.

July 21, 2016

The Tropical Agriculture Platform (TAP), launched in 2012 and supported by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), focuses on developing national capacities for agricultural innovation in the tropics. As one of its founding partners, CTA has been supporting the TAP to consolidate the different existing approaches to agricultural innovation. The European Commission also supports the TAP.

A Common framework on Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation Systems (CDAIS) was developed in 2015 under the supervision of a Global Task Force comprising several international donor and technical agencies and supported by a team of experts. The Global Task Force was chaired by Judith Francis, CTA's senior programme coordinator for science and technology policy. CTA is pleased to be associated with TAP as the Centre has been at the forefront of building capacity of ACP experts to understand, analyse and strengthen agricultural innovation systems.

Three products related to the Common Framework are now available for download.

SYNTHESIS DOCUMENT CONCEPTUAL BACKGROUND OPERATIONALIZATION

Concepts and principles of the TAP Common Framework are being tested in eight countries in Africa (Angola, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Rwanda), Asia (Bangladesh, Laos) and Central America (Guatemala, Honduras), as part of the CDAIS.
