He started his career with the French Institute for Development Research (IRD) in Guinea then with the French Development Agency (AFD) in Senegal as Economic Adviser on Fisheries policy issues and then joined in Paris as Project Manager for Agribusiness and Private Sector Development one of the leading European consultancy firms with several short term missions in Africa, Asia and Central Europe. Vincent joined CTA in 2003 and mainly worked on agricultural trade issues including the development and management of the CTA Agritrade site (http://agritrade.cta.int). Since 2012, Vincent is managing a portfolio of value chain development projects mainly in Africa.

Vincent Fautrel is Senior Programme Coordinator on Agricultural Value Chain Development. Trained as a Development Economist (Master degree in International Economics at Sorbonne University and Post Graduate diploma in Development Economics at Paris X Nanterre), Vincent has worked in the field of development since 1995.
