Open Access Week 2017 – Open in order to

October 23, 2017

The 10th International Open Access Week will take place from Monday 23 October to Sunday 29 October 2017. This year’s theme is “Open in order to…”. And CTA would like to support Open in order to feed the planet.

For Open Access week this year, CTA will feature the work done on Opening Data for Agriculture and Nutrition by the GODAN network. Some activities this week:

Tuesday: 24 October 2017

Wednesday: 25 October 2017

Webinar - CTA will publish the latest of the webinar series that CTA is facilitating for the GODAN Capacity Building Working Group as part of our work on the GODAN action project supported by DFID, UKAID. Data4Ag - Looking to the future CTA are supporting a series of events under our Data4Ag initiative relating to blending open and closed data use for Agriculture. More on this duiring our Data4Ag week 20-24th November.

Online Course -  Check the GODAN action website for an announcement of an exciting opportunity to improve your knowledge and skills on Open Data:Publishing, use and sevrices. There is just over a week to apply for a place on the Open Data and Research Data Management in Agriculture and Nutrition online course. The course is open to infomediaries, policy makers, administrators, project managers, researchers and scientists working in the areas of agriculture and nutrition.

This e-learning course is the result of a collaboration between GODAN Action partners, including Wageningen Environmental ResearchAgroKnowAidData, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR), and the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), the Land Portal, the Open Data Institute (ODI) and the Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation (CTA).
