Two tenders for 2 service contracts

CTA is seeking to identify the services of two companies to facilitate the design and delivery of ‘blended weather information system’ that incorporates the best of scientific and indigenous weather knowledge systems for a project in East Africa.

Consultancies (2 companies with the suitable expertise) to:

  1. Provide Agri-weather Data and
  2. Dissemination of Agri-weather Information (develop IT platforms and communication channels) for the Project "Enhancing Market Response to Resilience in Livestock Value Chains (CLI-MARK) in East Africa
  • CTA promotes information and knowledge sharing;
  • supports the development and implementation of evidence-based, multi-stakeholder policies and strategies;
  • promotes inclusive value chain development and use of ICTs;
  • and strengthens the capacities of agricultural and rural development institutions and communities across the ACP.

CTA operates under the framework of the Cotonou Partnership Agreement and is funded by the EU.

The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) through the Climate Livestock and Markets (CLIMARK) East Africa project is working with private - and public sector actors to scale up market mechanisms that can increase the adaptive capacity of pastoralists in northern Kenya and southern Ethiopia. The project aims at facilitating the design and delivery of ‘blended weather information system’ that incorporates the best of scientific and indigenous weather knowledge systems, developing and implementing mechanisms for scaling up livestock insurance among pastoralists and boosting markets, trade and enterprises for women and youth to increase incomes and sustainable practices.
