World Congress on Rural and Agricultural Finance

Three-yearly meeting of the five regional agri-finance networks. This meeting gathers many major international financial institutions dedicated to rural and agricultural finance and microfinance with a priority objective which is to promote agriculture and development activities in rural areas. The meeting gives participants an opportunity to have experience and knowledge exchange, share international best practices and promote international and interregional cooperation actions on the issues it covers. The Steering Committee for the up-coming 5th World Congress on Rural and Agricultural Finance consisting of Secretary Generals of the RACAs met in Dakar, Senegal from 26 – 27 January 2016.The World Congress on Agricultural and Rural Finance which is being organised and held every three years by the five International networks, namely; Confédération Internationale du Crédit Agricole – (CICA), Asia-Pacific Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (APRACA), Near East-North Africa Regional Agricultural Credit Association (NENARACA), African Rural and Agricultural Association (AFRACA) and the Latin American Association of Development Finance Institutions (ALIDE), supported by several development partners is being hosted this time by AFRACA and slated to be held in Dakar, Senegal from 24 to 25 November 2016. AFRACA member institutions, partners and stakeholders are invited to note and save the dates of the 5th World Congress as other important events such as the AFRACA biennial (19th) General Assembly would also be held alongside the Congress commencing from 23 – 26 November 2016 in Dakar, Senegal. The last World Congress hosted by CICA and Credit Agricole was held from 26 to 27 September 2013 at Hotel Le Méridien Etoile, Paris, France. Lamon Rutten, CTA's Policies, Markets and ICTs programme manager will participate as a moderator.
