The Policies, Markets and ICTs (PMI) programme contributes primarily to two of CTA’s strategic goals:
- Enhanced awareness, knowledge and skills, and access to information for engaging in agriculture and rural development policy processes and in agricultural value chain development, and
- Enhanced multi-stakeholder participation in agriculture and rural development policy processes and agricultural value chain development.
The Knowledge Management and Communication (KMC) programme contributes to CTA’s strategic goal 3: Enhanced information, communications and knowledge management (ICKM) capacity of ACP organisations that are engaged in national and regional ACP agricultural policy processes and agricultural value chain development.
The programme comprises the following master projects:
The LME Unit ensures that CTA’s annual work programme is consistent with the Centre’s Strategic Plan, while responsibility for monitoring of outputs, outcomes and impact is shared with the PMI and KMC programmes. It ensures that the corporate planning and strategy documents and monitoring reports are coherent and produced on time. The Unit organises periodic evaluations of projects that provide essential feedback to programmes, management and the Executive Board, allowing CTA to make any mid-course adjustments that might be required.
CTA has a new way of doing business. The organisation is introducing six new flagship projects to increase agricultural productivity, contribute to more-efficient and inclusive agricultural value chains and markets, and promote climate-smart agriculture.
