3rd PAFO Ordinary General Assembly

Event Overview

The Assembly of the Panafrican Farmers' Organisation (PAFO) will bring together the leaders and delegates of the five African farmers’ organisations from Eastern Africa (EAFF), Central Africa (PROPAC), Western Africa (ROPPA), Southern Africa (SACAU) and Northern Africa (UMNAGRI). CTA Director Michael Hailu will participate on behalf of the Centre. 

The Assembly will allow members to discuss the implementation and the future of their continental platform, as well as the challenges including among others the consolidation of institutional, organizational and partnership base; and, the consolidation of PAFO position in the different dialogue spaces and decision making regarding agriculture, livestock, fishery, forestry, rural development, in the African and international levels.

The event will take place at the campus of the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) on Sunday 19 and Monday 20 February 2017.

    PAFO is a network of Farmers Organizations across the African continent. It's aim is to improve communication, collaboration and information/knowledge sharing among stakeholders. Through PAFO, the sub-regional networks of farmers’ organizations and agricultural producers of the Maghreb (UMAGRI), of the Southern Africa (SACAU), of Central Africa (PROPAC), of the Eastern Africa (EAFF) and of West Africa (ROPPA), are working together since 2003 on continental issues of interest having a significant impact on African agriculture.
