Communications Initiative meeting on ‘Credible Research Methodologies – Communication and Media for Development’ CTA was invited to participate in this meeting by Warren Feek, Executive Director of the Communication Initiative, which organised the event. The initial invitation indicated that the meeting would “critically review, discuss and debate credible methodologies for research on communication and media for development/social and behavioural change themes”. The intended outcomes were given as follows: “1. Individual participants will leave the meeting with two new ideas for ways to strengthen the research and evaluation work of their organisation related to communication and media; social and behavioural change themes. “2. Collectively the participants will contribute to the development of a short (two pages) paper that provides a critical overview of the credibility of communication and media; social and behavioural change research.” The first of these is of particular interest to CTA, both in evaluating its communication efforts and in contributing to following up on the recommendations of the Forum on Communication for Development and Community Media, held at FAO in October 2014.
