The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) is a joint international institution of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States and the European Union (EU). INTERNSHIP BACKGROUND
CTA is looking for a highly motivated and result-oriented intern to produce visuals, produce graphical solutions and manage photos.
Are you a creative and visual person? Do you have great ideas on how to visualise data and complex information? Are you eager to try out the latest tools to create engaging gifs and other visuals? Do you have a good eye to identify and find photos to accompany text?
If you can answer yes to these questions, CTA can offer you an exciting opportunity to learn and grow professionally in communications. As part of our communication team, you will be actively engaged in a broad scope of work to ensure attractive visuals across CTA’s platforms. You will be an active player in our weekly content planning meetings, where we discuss how all content best are illustrated and visualised. You will work particularly close with the social media intern to ensure that all social media posts have appealing visuals. You will also interact with other CTA staff to get ideas on how best to visually present the programmatic work.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the shared guidance and supervision of the Web Content Manager and the Web Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following activities:
- Produce, source and
edit visuals (still and animated) for CTA’s online platforms (web and social
media);
- Produce infographics
and other visualisations, based on own data research;
- Perform photo research
and suggest photos for web use;
- Photo editing;
- Organise, reference and
make asset files accessible for internal use;
- Possibly take
photographs as required;
- Undertake other related
tasks as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- National of one of the ACP or EU States signatory to
the Cotonou Agreement (79 African, Caribbean and Pacific States and the European Union Member States). Only applications from nationals of
these countries will be considered.
- Recent
graduate, between 21 and 29 years old (maximum).
- Degree of higher education in graphic design,
digital communication, data journalism or related field.
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop,
Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Have strong visual and
animation skills with careful attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of
English or French (both written and oral) and preferably of the other
language.
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and
interpersonal and skills.
- Interest in and knowledge of international
development is also an asset.

- Internship stipend (€ 800 per month for holder of a Bachelor’s degree, €
1,000 per month for holder of a Master’s degree).
