Global Food Security Index (2017) ranked Rwanda the 88th out of 113 assessed countries worldwide. Also recent Health Demographic Survey (2015) has shown that prevalence of stunting among children under five was above 38%. Open data can be used in decision-making in tackling these problems.
A workshop held from 28 June - 01 July 2016 in Wageningen, the Netherlands to help document experiences and capitalise on the knowledge gained during the implementation of seven projects involving ICTs within the agricultural sector in Antigua, Belize, Barbuda, Trinidad and Tobago, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Mali, and Sudan.
Uganda’s agriculture sector is currently in a state of stagnation due to, among other issues, smallholders’ limited access to timely and accurate information relating to farm management in the face of uncertain weather patterns and natural disasters.
