CTA’s contribution to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

CTA contributes to several SDGs but in particular SDG2: Ending hunger, achieving food security and improved nutrition and promoting sustainable agriculture.

According to the UN, agriculture is the single largest employer in the world, providing livelihoods for 40% of today’s global population.

CTA is helping to

Build agribusinesses and strengthen value chains to support the transformation of agriculture to profitability by providing access to partnership services, particularly with the private sector, and brokering facilities.

Support farmer organisations and cooperatives to be more business-oriented and get better access to markets, improve performance, competitiveness and profitability of farmer-led businesses.

Support women’s empowerment by boosting investment in women-owned agribusiness development giving them a voice in the digitalisation of supply chains so they can change their communities for the better.
