PAFO/AgriCord/CTA side event at the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation

Aperçu de l'événement

A side event entitled 'Listen to young farmers from Africa – multi-stakeholder engagement for agri-business’ will take place in the margins of the 2nd High-Level Meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (28 November to 1 December 2016, Nairobi, Kenya). Jointly organised by the Panafrican Farmers' Organisation (PAFO), AgriCord and CTA, the side event will take place on 30 November, from 14:30 to 15:30. It will enable an active discussion between organised young farmers, the private sector, government and donors on how they can contribute concretely to the priorities of young farmers to develop agribusiness in Africa, also based on the experience of one Asian farmers’ organisation. The event will also showcase how AgriCord and CTA can channel support from donors, the privatesector and research to support farmers’ organisations and their involvement in agribusiness. Participants will be given the opportunity to listen to a legitimate voice of young organised farmers from Africa on how they see their future in agribusiness, on the role of different stakeholders in this and on their suggested indicators to monitor progress.
