The Pitch AgriHack 2018 start-up competition, with a special emphasis on young women entrepreneurs, holds its final during AGRF. It welcomes co-founders of e-agri start-ups owners of early stage or advanced ICT platforms that are already operational. The theme this year is "Women entrepreneurs innovate for agricultural transformation in ACP countries". A total of nine prizes are awarded - 50% of finalists are women-led start-ups.

A two-day training session will be carried out  4 5 September 2018 in rooms AD1 and AD4 at the event venue. This training session aims at helping finalist start-ups (and invited start-ups) identify key limits of their financial management strategy and identify actions they need to put in place to better manage their finances and improve their readiness to raise capital (grants, loans or equity investments) from potential investors and development organisations. The content of the training will be axed on Investment readiness, Start-up valuation, raising capital, keeping sound financial accounts, one-to-one coaching on start-up accounts and pitching coaching. 

6 September is marked by the "Pitching Day", a session where all the 26 finalists of this year contest will pitch their ICT solutions in front of business angels, venture capitals, entrepreneurs, development agencies, agriculture and ICT industry experts and professionals who will be present and eager to have the opportunity to interact with the startups and eventually identify deals/business opportunities. This will take place in room AD12.

A half-day exchange session with AgriHack start-ups will be organised on 7 September 2018. This reunion aims to address key issues on designing sound ICT4Ag business models, customer development/B2B strategies and challenges with agro e-commerce platforms

The Pitch AgriHack Award Ceremony will take place on, 8 September 2018 during the closure ceremony, after the presidential summit.
