Workshop on legal and policy aspects of open data in agriculture

Workshop on legal and policy aspects of open data in agriculture

Aperçu de l'événement

The aim of the workshop is to explore and discuss the legal and policy aspects of open data in agriculture affecting farmers both in developed and developing countries. In order to shed light to this topic we'll examine two reports in Europe and in Africa and see the communalities and the differences as well.

The goal is to raise awareness and empower farmers about their rights in the data value chain, promote the dialogue between all the actors involved in agriculture, enhance the role of farmers' associations. One good first practical approach would be the use and further development of codes of conduct in agriculture, on how to transparently govern the data, and as one way to build trust.

On Thursday 25th July, at 2pm, Chris Addison, Sr Programme Coordinator, Data4Ag at CTA and Valeria Pesce give a presentation on ''Codes of conduct for farm data sharing - work done and ideas for a GODAN/CTA sub working group ''.
